How to modify the main domain's document root

The root directory of the main website, corresponding to the main domain of the cPanel, is named “public_html”, which cannot be modified.

If you have to change the root of the website, add the following code to “.htaccess” file to disguise the root of the website corresponding to the main domain name:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www\.) ?yourdomain\.com$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ! ^/dir/
RewriteRule ^(. *)$ /dir/$1

In the above code, “yourdomain” text should be replaced with your domain name and “/dir” with the needed directory path.
