Can I get a free SSL certificate for a parked domain?

In web hosting, a free Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate can not be obtained for an alias domain (meaning a domain added through cPanel > Aliases page). However, a free SSL certificate can be obtained for a domain that is added through cPanel > “Addon Domains” page.

To request a free SSL certificate for a domain added through Aliases page, first you need to remove the alias domain, then add it as a separate additional domain pointing to the same directory (to work as alias). Follow these steps:

In the cPanel > “Domains” section > “Aliases” > remove the added domain name from the list of aliases.

Then in the cPanel > “Domains” section > “Addon Domains” > create additional domain names. To achieve the same previous effect as an alias, point the site to “public_html” directory.

The server will automatically obtain and install a free SSL certificate for every newly added domain name, all within 24 hours.
