Using the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) feature provides dual protection for accounts, while effectively reducing the risk of account theft.
Using 2FA requires installing a software in your smartphone or tablet. There are many kinds of 2FA software, we recommend using Google Authenticator as this is quite popular. Below we provide a guide for Google Authenticator, as an example.
Before using the two-factor authentication feature, please download and Google Authenticator app on your smartphone, from Play Store.
How to enable two-step verification
Login to “Client Area” (Sugarhosts.com > “My Account”), click on “Update” button from the left sidebar, then click on “Security Settings”, to enter Two-Factor Authentication page.
Click on “Click here to Enable” button to open the validation wizard.
Click the “Start” button in the pop-up window. This will followed by a QR code.
In the smartphone open “Google Authenticator” app, tap on “Scan a QR code“ button from the app, then scan the QR code using the smartphone's camera.
After scanning, a string of verification codes will appear on the smartphone. Click the Start button on the page, then follow the page prompts to enter the verification code from the smartphone, then click on “Confirm ” button.
The page will provide a code, please store this alternate code from the page, into a safe place. This may be used later for emergency login, in case Two-Factor Authentication device is lost, broken, or the smartphone is no longer available.
Lastly, click “Close” to enable the Two-Factor Authentication feature.
Unlock Two-Factor Authentication
Login to “Client Area” (Sugarhosts.com > “My Account”), click on “Update” button from the left sidebar, then click on “Security Settings” to enter Two-Factor Authentication page.
Click on “Click here to Disable” button on this page and follow the prompts to enter your account password. Please note the account password required here is the one used for login into Client Area, not the secondary verification code.
Next, click on “Disable Two-Factor Authentication” button to successfully disable 2FA.
